Exporting projects for uploading or sending

If you wish to upload your project to the Downloads section of the website or you wish to email your project to someone, then please use the following technique.

Problems will occur if you use custom objects and textures within your project and send it to another computer. You will receive an error message when loading as the missing objects and textures cannot be found. To overcome this problem, we recommend using PackNGo. However please keep in mind that problems will still occure if the objects and texutres are not stored in the same place on both machines.

PackNGo Macro To export and pack all objects and textures used in your project, you must first select the PackNGo macro from the Macro menu in Construction or Design mode.

The icon icon will appear in the horizontal tool bar. Left-clicking this will open up the PackNGo-Settings dialog box.

Note: Your ARCON 3D project must first be saved for the PackNGo-Settings dialog box to open.

settings

Select the File location and Project name. There are two check boxes for Do not include ARCON 3D standard objects and Do not include ARCON 3D standard textures. ARCON 3D installs standard objects and textures catalog so therefore, it will not always be necessary to export these using PackNGo if the receiver has the same version of ARCON 3D installed. With these boxes checked, the program compares the objects and textures used in the project to those in the catalog and export those that are different or not part of the standard install.

Press OK

To prepare your files for upload, you will need to zip them into a single file. PackNGo will create a project file (*.acp) and a folder that contains your objects & textures in the location you set in the PackNGo Settings. Select the folder and your project file by holding the Ctrl key and clicking on both. Then mouse click and send to a Compressed Zip Folder. The zip filed you just created can now be uploaded or emailed.

Loading the project

After extracting the zip file; you will see the project file and folder. This folder contains the objects and textures in a sub-folder structure so that the receiver can easily identify where the files must go. They need to be manually copied and pasted in to the ARCON 3D objects and textures directory including any new folders/files not part of standard catalog so that the data path is correct when the project loads.
